Ukiyo-e Thor and Captain America Prints now available

Excited to announce the next two limited edition prints from Marvel and Upperdeck.

"Back in February Upper Deck Gallery begun a unique series of Japanese Woodblock prints that showcased members of The Avengers locked in battle with an unknown evil. Hawkeye and Black Widow kicked off the fray in their very own individual lithograph posters. We saw the mighty heroes taking on what appeared to be serpents causing destruction. Today the enemy has a face and it is the wicked trickster god Loki. “Out of all the great Avengers villains, Loki seems the most timeless and diabolical,” said artist Marcelo Baez. “These traits transport him seamlessly into an Ukiyo-e type serpentine demon spreading his evil across the land.” But as Loki expands his devastation, the heroes are joined by two more members of the iconic Avengers."

As part of the SUPER exhibition in Newcastle at the moment, I was really excited about doing a Wolverine piece... and then I thought arrghhh! it's WOLVERINE!!!
After the fear subsided... I was looking through an amazing Hokusai book... and that's when it hit me... I'll do a Ukiyo-e Wolverine... well at least Ukiyo-e inspired!

Captain America private commission

This commission was a lot of fun, it was for a employee leaving a company, he is a huge comics and Cap fan (obviously) I was going for a silver age marvel feel, not to sure if that totally came through...
I was really impressed at his co workers thoughtfulness, they sent me buckets of reference for everyone, in every panel! 

While I'm on the subject... I'm happy to do private commissions of any kind!

Marvel Super Hero Squad Book!



Finally, I can brag about my new kids book for Marvel. It's called "Hulk saves the day!" And I have to say that "smurfy" looking heros are a lot harder to draw than they look, but of course heaps of fun...


I should also mention that I'll be in Melbourne next weekend April 16-18 at the Royal Showgrounds promoting the new book at SUPANOVA! So if you're in Melbourne town drop by the Littlehammer stand!
