Man-Bat cover!
This cover is part of a DC comics pitch that the talented writer Chris Sequeira (X-MEN: CURSE OF THE MUTANTS, DARK DETECTIVE: SHERLOCK HOLMES) organized with me at the beginning of this year... not sure what's happening with it at the moment... fingers crossed I guess!

Grand Final Cover 2012!
I was very grateful to be asked to supply another cover for Rugby League Week magazine.
This time for the grand final face off between the Melbourne Storm and the Canterbury Bulldogs.
Due to the turn quick turnaround of the project, I was also fortunate because the editor had the foresight to prepare me well ahead of time, for the 4 possible teams combinations depending on the final draw.

Pining for Hokusai!
This article was about weird sex customs from around the world, allegedly Japan is number one.
I couldn't help but think of the great Hokusai print "The dream of the fisherman's wife" from the pining for love series.

Joe Kubert 1926-2012
I was saddened to hear that legendary comic creator Joe Kubert passed on August 12. Younger comic creators that don't know his work should really seek it out, he was a master of his craft.
I sadly, only really began to appreciate his work in the past 10 years or so. His work is brilliant, exciting and full of heart... exactly what I believe great comics should be.
I count myself very fortunate, as I was lucky enough to chat with him briefly at Supanova 2010 in Sydney. He was a gentleman, insightful and very generous with this old fanboy.

Olympics Alien Invasion Conspiracy
From a feature article ... No idea when the Aliens are coming. Sorry.
I was inspired by some vintage poster art...
... and Hitler was rejected from participating the Olympics too... don't ask...

Sharehouse Survival feature story
A double page spread illustration for a feature editorial story, here's the stand first... "Wherever you live, you can bet your last incense stick you’ll be rubbing shoulders down the hallway with these real-life clichés..."
I jazzed it up a little by putting them on a "cluedo" inspired game board...

Art Gallery of NSW Character design course
I felt very privileged to be asked to teach again at the Art Gallery of NSW. I teach a basic character design workshop for teenagers, showing them how to use reference for better comics and manga.
The last class I had was fantastic, I'm very pleased to show a couple of my students art here.
Thanks to Emma and Jordon for their excellent work! And thanks again to Dot at the gallery for her invitation.
