Dr. Seuss in Wollongong
I just found out that an exhibition of limited edition artworks from the Seuss Estate will be at the Novotel Hotel Wollongong, Northbeach, Grandball room!
Here's the guff:
The exhibition housed a groundbreaking collection of 70 years of Seuss’ art history that included Illustration Art, Unorthodox Taxidermy and the Secret Art Series. This exciting exhibition of limited editions mixed in with museum panels of original memorabilia was an eye-opening experience for the general public.
BUT it's 4 days only!!! 10th December to 13th December!!!
For more info and more cool images see tvhgallery

Fairy and Fawn
This personal piece is a bit of an experiment for a possible new graphic novel. I've been collecting a lot of old children's books on fairy tales etc so I guess its rubbing off...plus my wife loves fawns and I knew she'd like it! I'll colour it when I get a chance....

Ironman in progress
Here's a small part of a larger Iron man piece. I got carried away and had so much fun with the Ironmen suits, I forgot that only 3 of them really appear in the final, which i'll post soon...

TO BOLDLY GO...AND PHONE HOME
I'll be unable to blog for a while after this, so I thought I'd show the process for this piece, that was published this month in Tiger Airlines Magazine. I had to make the final work on a dark background as well as a light one as the A.D was still preparing his page design... this job was great fun!
approved rough

SUPANOVA SYDNEY
Wow, what a blast! I attended this Supanova as a "tourist" for the first time in about 5 years, and I still had a great time meeting people. There was so much great local talent at Artist alley this year that really blew me away, a couple of stand outs I thought were David Follet and Greg Holfeld who had some great work on display.
Chris Sequeira managed to get me to talk on a panel regarding Aussie comics, I'm glad it was a last minute invite. (cause I may have lost sleep over it.)
That dork in the red t-shirt is me, with Jan Scherpenhuizen and Chris.
Also I got to catch up with Colin (Star Wars: Invasion) Wilson, who had some interesting theories on the future of comics regarding iphones and other hand held computers. I just got in to hear a talk by Tim Sale who is one of my fav artist, bummer I missed out on meeting him later..
Here's the talented Cefn Ridout, Me, Colin Wilson and Frank Kennedy (who did get to meet Tim Sale AND get a cool sketch from him...)
Big thanks to Ivan for the cool Wolverine t-shirt!

"The first rule of Fight Club..."
Yeah, this ain't fight club, but it was inspired by the inflight illustrations towards the end of the movie...
This story was for Wish magazine and its about a man that traveled around the world with only one piece of onboard luggage.

"After the Challenger" Graphic novel
"After the Challenger" Graphic novel (sort of..)
I received these in the mail from a client a while ago but forgot to brag about'em...
These graphic novels mix text with comic pages, so kids have to read text pages and comic pages to get the whole story, a very good way to get kids reading I think.
Here's one of my interiors

SUPANOVA AFTERMATH!
Too much fun for one weekend, definitely the busiest Supanova I've ever been too. Brisbane was magic and I loved the warm (sticky) weather, except my display posters started curling in the humidity...
I really enjoyed chatting and catching up with the local creators and I managed to have a great Saturday night dinner with them too.I got a chance to meet Todd McFarlane ( I totally loved his Spiderman comics soooo much..) and the greatly underrated Colin Wilson..Mr Wilson is doing some beautiful Starwars comics for Dark Horse at the moment. (I'm a big fan)
Tim (Ever talented) McEwan and I at the littlehammer stand...
Here's the friendliest (and shortest) stormtrooper I've ever met...
Glad to say my beautiful wife had fun and may yet attend another Supanova...thank goodness..I couldn't do it with out her...
